my work

I'm fascinated by intimate moments, domestic subjects, past and present, part and whole, classical elements and nature. I use those moments as a point of departure to explore these dualities and our ambivalence towards the human feelings. I try to create work that evokes an experience with formal imagery that upon closer inspection reveals uncomfortable truths about our cultural and biological conditions.

I'm strongly inspired by the life around me. I enjoy experimenting with different processes that help me to discover the idea of an eternal, ‘pure’ art, unhinged from the context and change. It is important for me that my work is reflective and self-contained. Also, how the form of an object can reveal meaning but also the materials and process by which it was made.
