I am concerned about “The Commercialization of American Medicine”.
In this new work, the installation on the case is my self-portrait reflected in my medical prescription history in the last five years. My intention is to show the public an honest vision of health care in modern culture. Also, how my MEDICAL experience has been part of this commercial distortion in the crisis of the American health in which I have been affected like any individual in this society. Today drugs have become like hair products or cosmetics.
It is important for me that my work is reflective and self-contained; how the form of an object can reveal meaning but also the materials and process by which it was made.
